The search for a home continues

We had six houses scheduled for this weekend and only ended up seeing three in Falls Church, Virginia, none of which will work for us. It wasn't a terribly emotional process this weekend because the houses, while all historic, with their own mid-century vibe, and proximity to the outdoors, beautiful decks and backyards and the wood beams, all had low ceilings on the second floor and Ryan could not even really stand in them. This is the challenge of being 6'6 and trying to purchase a historic home. We are starting to think we need to stick with one-story homes with high ceilings only?! We were also supposed to see a home in Rockville, Maryland on two acres of property. We had scheduled an appointment and then they accepted an offer within 24 hours of posting. Here's a few photos from this weekend's excursion...

We definitely would have put an offer on this house in Holmes Run Acres but Ryan couldn't stand up straight in the master bath...

We also looked at a cute house in Pine Spring, another very cool mid-century neighborhood but it was just too compact.

I will continue to share all of the mid-century goodness as the search continues...

Welcome to my midcentury musings...

I'm Madeline, a Northern Virginia resident settling into a midcentury hideaway in the suburbs. I love low-fi music, Negronis, and firing up the record player on Friday nights.
