Portland real estate

I keep an eye on Portland real estate (my hometown) as the city has some of the most inventive mid-century moderns in the country and brings that woody, northwest aesthetic to the design. Many of the Portland homes are built among tall fir trees overlooking the city and Mt. Hood and I find that much of this "treehouse feel" finds its way into my own home design. . I couldn't help but share that this swoon-worthy mid-century modern estate built by Richard Campbell as his personal residence is for sale for $1.46M. The home was originally built in 1966, in the Highlands Crest neighborhood, also known as the Southwest Hills and has been featured as Sunset's Home of the Year and won the Portland AIA award.

An aerial view of the the home.

I just can't with this house.

Sizable deck for entertaining and lounging.

A unique, original fireplace.

The architect very much achieved the indoor/outdoor feeling that makes mcm's so appealing. I also love the seamless lighting fixtures in this room.

What do you think? Could you make this your personal residence? I certainly could...

Welcome to my midcentury musings...

I'm Madeline, a Northern Virginia resident settling into a midcentury hideaway in the suburbs. I love low-fi music, Negronis, and firing up the record player on Friday nights.
