palm springs take 2

I'm back from a two month hiatus (wedding, honeymoon, life) with plenty of MCM content to kick off summer. We enjoyed a week long trip to my favorite mid-century modern destination for our wedding and then to Greece where there weren't really any mid-centuries, but there were lots of beautiful sunsets, beaches, and white washed structures. When I wasn't busy with all the wedding shenanigans, I was walking around the stunning Vista Las Palmas neighborhood taking in some of the most iconic mid-century modern homes ever built. A few of my favorite MCM homes and photos from our event that really captured the vibe...

Our rental house for the week was an original 1960s home on Rose Avenue with vaulted ceilings and an indoor/outdoor layout that opened to an expansive pool.

My shoes and one of my favorite Slim Aarons photos that we asked our guests to sign.

A unique property at the top of Chico Canyon.

Another Vista Las Palmas home with massive rocks in the front yard.

A bright green door is perfect for this desert landscape.

Ryan's parents rental was in the movie colony and we spent many hours lounging at their pool.

Colorful drinks at Workshop Kitchen + Bar.

Morning coffees at Cafe La Jefa.

My uncle rented a house in Vista Las Palmas with the best pool.

Another MCM cutie showcasing a variety of palm tree species (*Fun fact* Palm Springs has hundreds of species of Palm Trees but only one is indigenous - Fan Palms).

Wedding vibes.

Signing off in MCM style.

Welcome to my midcentury musings...

I'm Madeline, a Northern Virginia resident settling into a midcentury hideaway in the suburbs. I love low-fi music, Negronis, and firing up the record player on Friday nights.
