memorial day reading

What are you all doing for Memorial Day? It's raining all weekend in the mid-Atlantic and we are planning to drive up to Baltimore today to spend time with some good friends and will be back on Sunday to do some spring cleaning. We will make a few pit stops at house tours on the way as our search continues.

Since we have a rainy, low key weekend, I've pulled together my favorite MCM reads and features for the week. Enjoy!

  1. Virtually tour this design exhibition and historic modern home, the Gerald Luss House in Ossining, NY. Can we talk about that master bath and vanity for a second?

  2. Why You Should Wait Out the Housing Market. Something to think about for the homebuyers out there, me included!

  3. And yet, housing inventory just skyrocketed by 10,0000.

  4. Plan ahead for Father's Day. Sleek, modern gifts for the dad in your life.

  5. Have you heard of FOGO? The kinds of anxiety you might be experiencing as you return to normal life.

  6. Emily Schuman's backyard renovation is goals.

  7. Prepare your summer reading list now, a list for every mood. Cultish is on my list.

  8. 14 Best Memorial Day furniture sales. I'm eyeing St. Frank, DWR, and 1stDibs.

  9. Even though this was all over the internet last week, this house made no sense to me and looked totally over the top. Thoughts?

  10. My favorite treat that takes about 15 minutes, when nothing else will do.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Welcome to my midcentury musings...

I'm Madeline, a Northern Virginia resident settling into a midcentury hideaway in the suburbs. I love low-fi music, Negronis, and firing up the record player on Friday nights.
