Growing up in Portland, Oregon, I always dreamed of living in Los Angeles. We visited often to see my godparents and I could not get enough - the ocean, the possibility of a celebrity sighting, the perfect weather, the gorgeous sunsets. I never actually made Los Angeles my permanent home but I consider the city one of my favorite places to visit - my best friend just bought a home in Long Beach! Los Angeles is also a haven for beautiful mid century homes tucked into the hills and forested areas of the city. I recently saw a photo taken by Lauren Engel, a Los Angeles-based residential architecture photographer and videographer, and was taken aback by her ability to capture the mid-century essence. Her website and Youtube channel are excellent sources of inspiration.
